Rituals & Recipes

Rituals & Recipes was a four-day workshop organised by the Artemisia collective (Jesse May Fisher, Treeney Harkin, Rieko Whitfield) exploring the potential of rituals, recipes, and shared lived-experience to generate alternative discourses on collective care.

The central aims of this workshop were to create opportunities for artists with aligning practices to meet and collaborate, and to produce a “Conceptual Cookbook” – an open-ended amalgamation of practices, motions, mantras, and meditations for dissemination.

The workshop took place in AcrossRCA 2021 at the Royal College of Art, and included a panel discussion with guest artists Joshua Bilton, Verity Birt, Emmie Ray Hubbard, and Maia Magoga of Gobyfish Collective.

“Rituals & Recipes” was featured in the Royal College of Art news alongside an interview with Artemisia.
